At the same you put an offer in, you will want to be prepared to write an earnest money check. An earnest money check signals your earnest as a buyer to the seller and pre-funds your down payment. If the contract closes, this money will be applied to the remainder of your down payment. If the contract does not close, you could be refunded the full amount. Instructions for Drop Off
First, confirm that the amount is correct. You can call us or check the amount specified in the offer. Write the check to pay to the order of: Realty One Group Aurora and in the right hand bottom corner for: EM check for (insert property address) for which you are making an offer. Put the check in an envelope, but don’t seal it. On the outside of the envelope write “EM check for (insert property address)” and your name.
Plan to drop the check off earnest money check off to Realty One Group Aurora within a day of making the offer and during office hours. You can show it to the receptionist and ask for a receipt and a photocopy. You can then seal the envelope with the check in it and give it to the receptionist. Please text us after you’ve dropped off the check and we will let the seller's Realtor know that it has been delivered.
Your check will be deposited into Realty One Group Aurora's specially designated broker's escrow account. This account is reserved just for earnest monies and is highly regulated by the State of Alaska.
